Annabelle - Koala

Today we used the site, scratch to do some coding with our collages we made on Google drawing. To make the koala move you need to use the arrow keys on your keyboard, and if you want to restart and make the koala go back to the start just press the green flag button up above.

Trip to Wellington

Yesterday my class went to Wellington for a school trip to two places, Te Papa and a medialab called Capital E. When the bus finally arrived it stopped at Te Papa first, so we all got out of the bus and got into the groups we were in.

After a bit my group headed inside of the big building and went upstairs to the next level. We chose that we'd go into and explore the nature zone, different types of birds, weta's, and more were in the first area of the nature zone. So we all looked around that first area when headed to the next area, it had lots of things to just try, the area I think was natural disasters and things that can naturally happen on earth. There was also a earthquake house that all wanted to go in so when did.

We weren't in Te Papa for too long, and once we were done we left Te Papa and walked to Capital E which was near where we were. When we were in Capital E, we had to put our bags in these boxes and then go inside into the medialab.  A lady told us that we were going to make our own music and showed us how to, once she finished showing us we got into pairs, I went with Toni.

We went to a computer, put the headphones on and started to look around of the different effects and sounds we could use.

After an hour and a half, we all had to save the music we made. Once we all did that we sat down and listened to what everybody made, then after finished the media session and headed outside to wait for the bus at a place near a arena.

After all I really enjoyed the trip but mostly the medialab session, because I've never made my own music before and I like to try new things. But Te Papa wasn't that exciting, but only because that I've been there many times before.

Holes by Louis Sachar

This term my class read the book Holes by Louis Sachar and did activities while we were reading.
I presented the activities I did on a google slide.
An introduction to the story:
The story was about a boy called Stanley Yelnats, and one day he was walking home when a famous pair of sneakers fell from a bridge he just passed and hit his head. He didn't know the sneakers were famous so he picked them up and started to walk home with them, but the police caught him with the shoes and arrested him. When he was in court, he was allowed two choices, Jail or Camp Greenlake. He chose Camp Greenlake because he never went to a camp before, until now.
I enjoyed doing most of the Holes activities and don't have a favourite one.
My favourite person in the book is Zero because he was brave enough to run away for Camp Greenlake.
