I am a student at Ōtaki College in Ōtaki, NZ. My blog is a place where I will be able to share some of my learning. Please note....some work won't be edited - they are just my first drafts, so there may be some errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas on my posts.

Holes by Louis Sachar
This term my class read the book Holes by Louis Sachar and did activities while we were reading.
I presented the activities I did on a google slide.
An introduction to the story:
The story was about a boy called Stanley Yelnats, and one day he was walking home when a famous pair of sneakers fell from a bridge he just passed and hit his head. He didn't know the sneakers were famous so he picked them up and started to walk home with them, but the police caught him with the shoes and arrested him. When he was in court, he was allowed two choices, Jail or Camp Greenlake. He chose Camp Greenlake because he never went to a camp before, until now.
I enjoyed doing most of the Holes activities and don't have a favourite one.
My favourite person in the book is Zero because he was brave enough to run away for Camp Greenlake.

My T3 W4 Relfection
White hat - list what you have have been learning in class this week
Tessellation, Symmetry, Fractions, Holes, Myths and Legends, Character Description, Fitness Rotation, Throwing and catching, Moon Landing presentation, Holes, A start of my calendar draft, singing, tidying up my folders on drive.
Yellow hat - what has gone well with your learning this week?
Symmetry and tessellation because It helped me learn more things like, knowing shapes that tessellate and not. But symmetry helps me with my art, I can get my art equally sized on each sides.Black hat - What has not gone well with your learning this week?
Holes activities, there was a lot more other work I needed to finish as well as holes because I was away for a while, but I’ve only nearly done one activity, and also the character description .Green hat - what can you do better next week
Get the Mahi when I was sick done and also stay on balance with the new Mahi.T3 W9 Reflection

Myths and legends, Spiced Peaches, Fractions, Plurals “es”, Bowl-a-facts, Protect the cone, Calendar art and “my dad” writing.
Yellow hat - what has gone well with your learning this week?
Myths and legends, Plurals “es”, and calendar art. For my myths and legends I planned the characters and personality traits, but I’m still working on the setting and more. I really enjoy doing calendar art because I love art and we can choose anything we want to do. And the plurals were easy because I already know them.
Black hat - What has not gone well with your learning this week?
Bowl-a-fact, I didn’t understand it and did it wrong.
Green hat - what can you do better next week
Holes activities, I was doing other mahi and forgot to do the new activities.

Calendar Art, Myths and Legends, Holes activities, Te Reo Maori numbers and greetings, and Rippa rugby. I was away sick so I didn’t learn that much, but I went on my Mahi at home for a day.
Yellow hat - what has gone well with your learning this week? why?
Calendar art and Te Reo greetings, I still haven’t chosen what I want to do for my art but I enjoy drawing and drafting it. And the greetings are useful and helpful, they are easy to learn.
Black hat - What has not gone well with your learning this week? Why not?
Myths and Legends and my holes activities, because for my Myth or Legend I haven’t fully chosen what I’m going to do and I haven’t started. And I didn’t know what to do while I was away so I forgot to do my holes activities.
Green hat - what can you do better next week
To be able to stay on track with my holes activities and get my Mahi finished.
